KFX Ambulance

The 7.5m KFX Ambulance Vessel has been designed and built to meet the challenges of many remote African waterways.

The 2.5m beam in conjunction with the Cathedral Hull, creates a smooth ride, offering patient comfort even at high speed. The Aluminium 4mm Hull offers a lightweight solution which leads to savings in fuel. Constructed from Marine Grade 5083 Aluminium, she weighs in at under two tons and the recommended propulsion is dual 115HP 4 stroke engines.

With access from all four sides of the vessel the KFX Ambulance offers practical solutions for loading and offloading of patients. The extra width, 1.3m wing doors, allow for ease of access when manoeuvring a trolley stretcher into and out of the ambulance. The vessel offers ample packing space for medical equipment as well as seating for a medical team of two on board, a skipper, one crew member and a patient bed with an extra seat for an additional passenger. On the Port-side is a hand-wash basin and tap with a 50 litre supply of fresh water.

The medical package on the vessel includes essential equipment to operate autonomously. The equipment includes the likes of a vitals monitor, a defibrillator, complete advanced life support bag, IV lines and connections, oxygen tank and evacuation stretcher. 

Regarding safety from COVID 19 the vessel offers a sealed off skipper cockpit, as well as requisite PPE items. Protective body suits, face masks and protection gloves for medical staff, crew and patients alike, are supplied. The vessel offers Radar, GPS mapping and VHF communications, marine safety equipment and anchoring & fendering.

For ease of transportation the KFX Ambulance is supplied with a galvanised dual axle trailer for road transportation.
